The week before I start school I get a text from my friend Warren asking if I wanted to go to Lake Powell. I already had prior commitments to go on a road trip with Katie, Jon, and Bradley. He convinces me to come and bring along the other three. DONE! The day we leave the boys bail, doesn't bother Katie and I though. As we were at the grocery store before we hit the road we get a phone call from Bradley, "I'm coming!" Perfect! Twenty minutes later he calls me back and says Justin is coming! YAY! Katie and I head up to pick the boys up and finally get on the road about 9:30. Drove all night and get to Powell around 4 the next morning. Wern told us where to go and to wait there until the sun comes up. We didn't think it would be to bad considering we only had about an hour and a half before that would happen. Katie is the only one that slept.Bradley and I talked and watched the sun rise and finally Wern says to meet them at the dock. As we were getting ready to unload the car Bradley is opening his Dr. Pepper, drops it and it goes EVERYWHERE! He starts crying (not literally, but blame the no sleep) ha and I am on the ground dying of laughter because he is drooling all down his shirt. It is one of those "had to be there" experiences but when you had no sleep everything is hilarious!
We got to the campground, set up our tent, and got out on the water. Wakeboarding, tubing wars, and just swimming! Lake Powell never gets boring!
I love tubing wars! They are not only great to watch but to be a part of! Apparently on one run I was getting tons of air and Wern asked if he should take it easy on me but of course not! I can handle it, we have to be as tough as the boys! ha
Saturday night we get a horrible storm! The boat got beached, we pushed it out, by the time everyone got on we were beached again. The boat almost tipped, we finally get everyone on board and go play in a canyon hoping it would settle down. About two hours later it finally had settled so it was bearable. We decided that we should just go home so we pack everything up, get our dinner started and decide to have a big bonfire before we The boys building our awesome bon fire!
Bradley and I. Love him and our great talks. One of my best friends!
WERN! The man that put it all together! Thanks for the great weekend! "Those to not be named" missed out! ha
Me, Bradley, Justin, and Katie! We missed you Jon! I couldn't ask for better friends!
The crew!
Bradley putting out the fire so we could start our journey back to the dock and get on our 6 hour drive home!
Katie and I had great talks on the way home with some old school music! ha We got home around 5 Sunday morning. A trip made short but worth it! I'm going again for fall break and I can't wait! I also got my sun in for the summer in those two days! I walk in to church that day and Jake looked at me and said "You finally look your race" To bad it doesn't last very long! ha
