Last game of the season was the most depressing game I have ever experienced. One of my best friends and "big brother" is the kicker for the UTES. He won the game for them lsst week in OT, it was insane. I am proud to not only know him but to have him as one of the most important people in my life. I got a taste of their life style and I don't know how they do it. Cole missed three field goals and my phone exploded with HATE calls/texts. My friends all know how close Cole and I are. Very rarely do I go a day without seeing/talking to him. When he missed the first field goal a "friend" yelled "He sucks!" and others join in and boo that we know him. Haley and I look at each other, laugh it off and continue to watch the game. Second field goal comes (which I agree he should have made this ne, easily) and he missed again. The same kid rages with fire! "How can you be happy to even know someone who sucks as bad as he does? Get out of here nobody that even likes that kid should even be allowed in this stadium" Of course I laugh at that also and the kid gets furious with me. "I'm serious, get out of here I can't even stand to look at you" I moved down a few rows before I say something I will regret later. Now it's the biggest and most important field goal of Colemans football career....he misses again. People are booing, I'm in shock, and that same "friend" comes down and starts yelling in my face. Others hear that I know him and start booing me again. I'm ignoring all the snide remarks and getting ready to leave when all of a sudden I hear my friend say "Watch out Mace." I hurry and duck, turn around and see that the kid had thrown a hot chocolate at me. Cool dude.....and then the rage starts. Another kid is holding the kid back and telling him not to do anything more retarded than he already has. Everyone around us starts yelling at me, booing us and they won't let me leave the MUSS. Security came and got me out and I was so relieved. My friend Zach had called me and I hesitated to even call him back. I did and he said only positive things. I turned my phone off for the rest of the night and when I turned it on I had the sweetest Voicemail from Coleman. He felt so bad that he cost them the game but even more bad because of what had happened to me. I learned a lot about people that night. I'm grateful to know who my true friends are. One good thing about the season being over is that Cole and I get our movie nights back!!! UTAH man am I, until the day I die!!!!!
