"Tan the Man"

I've never liked valentines day as long as I can remember...probably because the first one I do remember I was in Kindergarten and I was home with the chicken pox...I'm not planning on tomorrow being any better. A good friend from school took his life last week. I know it's only February but this is the second one this year and it's starting to scare me. He was one of the last kids I ever expected, he was full of love and the one that lit up a room as soon as he walked in. He had unconditional love for everybody whether he knew them or not. I remember the first time I met him, he made you feel like you had been friends for years. He was a kid that was good at every sport he played, the boys wanted to be like him and the girls wanted to be with him, but just being around him was good enough! I had an opportunity to see him the night this happened and I declined. Instead I stayed home and watched "One Tree Hill" with the family before going to institute and then bowling with Zach. I knew if I would have gone to Chase's I wouldn't have gone to Institute, but I will always wish I would have gone just to say "goodbye" I guess it's true you never really know someone...I encourage everyone to tell your loved ones how you feel regularly, even when they seem that everything is going right for them. It's sometimes the strongest that need it the most. Don't be afraid to say something to a stranger either, sometimes just a smile can make someones day! Happy Birthday tomorrow Tan, I haven't talked to one person yet that isn't going to the funeral, it's going to be packed, but you have touched a lot of lives. BEAR HUG!!!
